Hosting a “Big Top” Circus-Themed Baby Shower
Lions and clowns and elephants, oh my! If you’re looking for an easy idea for a fun shower, our “Big Top Baby Shower” line is the place to start. Our party planners have found so many wonderful items that you’ll be able to get everything you need in one place, saving your time and energy to think of cute ways to build the party around a circus theme.
The Big Top baby shower invitations are absolutely adorable: Inside the invitation is a ticket that will admit one guest to the party. If children are attending, you can opt for the Big Top coloring boo, pinwheels and stickers. The Big Top line includes several kitschy items you can place in a large bowl for the adults: buttons, treat bags, circus masks and blow-out favors.
We even offer a decorating kit to make things easier. It includes honeycomb decorations and garland, a “Celebrate” sign and a hanging Big Top elephant hanging from the center. To the kit, add a few more Big Top items, like the centerpiece, the party banner and assorted tablecovers, plates, cups, napkins and party hats, including top hats!
Once you have the invitations and baby shower decorations taken care of, the menu couldn’t be easier to plan. Offer your guests circus treats! Our Big Top Snack Bowls can hold a variety of snacks, including hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers and potato chips. Visit your local party supply store for a few packages of popcorn bags, which you can also use for peanuts or Crackerjacks.
For dessert, make simple cupcakes you can frost, and then top with our Big Top Cupcake Toppers. You might also consider setting up an ice cream sundae bar, complete with a bananas, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chopped or sliced nuts and maraschino cherries.
If you are having a "family" shower, with kids attending, the entertainment will also be easy to coordinate. If your budget allows, hire a balloon twister to come to the party and make balloon circus animals for your guests. A traveling petting zoo might be fun, too, especially for the kiddies, and you could even hire a clown!
If you aren’t up to hiring a professional, keep with the circus theme and include a few silly games you haven’t played since you were a kid, like our Big Top Ring Toss Game, Big Top Felt Toss Game or a simple game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey. Set up these games in different areas of the party so that guests can play when the mood strikes them.
