Planning Ideas and Tips For you Girl's Birthday Party
It All Starts With A Theme for the Decorations
When you create your party, a theme can help guide you through all the planning phases by helping inspire fun things to do, ways to decorate a room, and even guide the creation of a perfect favor bag for your guest to take home. Of course, we recommend choosing a theme that is inspired by your guest of honor – something that is unique to her, and is special in her heart!
Depending on your girl’s age, it might be something simple like her favorite toy or TV show. As they grow up, themes tend to be inspired by make believe fantasies, or what they want to be when they grow up. Of course, you can also pick her favor activity, sport, or hobby to inspire you.
Send Out Invitations Well In Advance
It seems that as our world gets more “wired,” we end up with less and less time to thoughtfully plan, so we recommend going old-school when you send your girl's birthday invitations – something that can be put on the guests refrigerator or bulletin board, and used for them to keep the date free!
Every one of our girls ensembles has invitations, and most of them also have stickers you can use to decorate the invitations so that they make an impact, and help telegraph the theme you’ve selected for the event.
Some Great Ideas for Things to Do at a Girl's Birthday Party
We are hearing from our customers that more and more of them are creating a day of birthday fun that includes both an opportunity to share a meal or snacks, and also do something that creates a lasting memory for the guests and guest of honor alike. Some of our most favorite birthday activities for girls include:
- Attend a play or performance– Check out the children’s theater companies in your area, or see what upcoming children’s performers are coming to town.
- Make a mess at someone else’s place – Arts and crafts are always a fun activity to plan or do, but the clean-up can be a bear – especially after a large group of little girls attack your kitchen or hobby room! The perfect solution is to go visit a business that hosts activities for kids like cooking classes, art studios, or garden centers. The kids have a great time, and the mess stays behind when you leave!.
- Have some truly girly-girl fun – visit a dance studio and have some dance lessons, find a place that hosts fantasy dress-up parties, or plan a spa day or sleepover party as the perfect way to entertain, and make memories.
