Add a multitude of color with balloons by incorporating these ideas into your party décor:
Decorating with balloons allows you to create spectacular displays for very little money. You don’t have to be an expert decorator or spend hours and hours crafting displays. Follow our simple suggestions for using balloons to create impressive bursts of color for your party.
Start with the basics:
- Start with selecting a theme for your party, then choose the colors you want to use. We’ve made it easy for you; each theme’s main page has product suggestions personally chosen by our party consultants that will color-coordinate with that particular theme’s color palette.
- You also need to consider whether it is worth purchasing a disposable helium tank to fill all your balloons in the convenience of your home or at your party venue, or if it is more cost effective to go to your local party supply store or florist and have them inflate your balloons with helium. Take into consideration that you will have to transport these inflated balloons as well.
Make your own balloon garland!
No helium necessary! Our balloon garland is quick and easy to make, doesn’t cost very much, and is guaranteed to add lots of color to your party! Follow our simple instructions to make your own balloon garland:
- Calculate approximately how many balloons you’ll need and in which colors to make your balloon garland(s). There is no rule to this; you can hang as many or as few balloons on each garland as you wish.
- Make sure to also select curling ribbon; you will need this as the hanging medium to tie the balloons to. Measure out how long each garland will be and make sure you order accordingly.
- To make the garland: blow up the desired amount of balloons. Tie each balloon to the garland; you can either use a separate piece of curling ribbon and tie it to the main strand, or using the main strand, tie the balloon directly to it. You can use all one color or alternate different colors in a pattern. Tie one end of the ribbon to a fixed point in the room and attach the other end to another fixed point. You can also use balloon garlands on mantels, in windows, and, if hosting a party outside, on fences or porch railings, and hanging in-between tree branches! Pretty much anywhere you want lots of color!
- For upward arching balloon garlands, use helium filled balloons, but follow the same instructions.
Create ceilings awash in color:
We like this idea because of its simplicity, with results that are anything but!
- This party decorating tip works best on flat ceilings. Depending on the size of the room, you will need to calculate approximately how many balloons will be needed to cover the ceiling. There are two options: the first is to inflate each balloon with helium, tying each with a cascade of curling ribbon, and letting each float randomly up to the ceiling. The other option is to fill each balloon with regular air and suspend them from the ceiling using curling ribbon so that each balloon hangs upside down. Either way, your ceiling will be painted with color!
Balloon bouquets all around!
Balloon bouquets are easy to assemble and can have a really powerful visual impact.
- Select a grouping of balloons, deciding how many you would like in each grouping (we suggest an odd amount). Each of our themes has a selection of solid color latex and foil balloons, as well as patterned foil balloons that you can combine to make vibrant arrangements. Tie the balloons with our color-coordinating curling ribbon and tether the bouquet to points of interest, such as the entrance to the party, the gift table, or near the cake. An idea we especially like is to attach them to the back of each chair at a sit-down gathering – the balloons will rise to form a “cloud” of balloons around the table! You can also attach a balloon bouquet to the ends of a hanging banner or garland to really draw attention to it.
Just use your creativity and imagination - there are endless possibilities!
